IT'S a deal that's a bit out of the ordinary.
For vendors Allan and Jenny Jones have dropped the price of their Pen-y-Mynydd property by £20,000 and are offering £5,000 cash back on completion.
Ashgrove, an attractive four-bedroom home at 19 Heol Ddu, is now on the market for £229,995.
Mr Jones said he was first drawn to the house as it was set in beautiful open countryside with amazing views.
"Being set on a quiet, no through road, this peaceful setting affords our children more freedom to play safely outside the home without being restricted to only having a back garden to play in," he said.
"There are numerous enjoyable walks starting from the property, yet the home is in a convenient location."
Ashgrove is set in its own grounds, with a driveway and garden to the front and a private, level back garden overlooking woodland and open countryside.
"With a large patio and French doors opening onto the south facing back garden, which enjoys the sun all day, it's a perfect place for a barbecue or just relaxing on a summer's day," said Mr Jones.
"The property is a deceptively spacious detached house with four good sized bedrooms, three reception rooms and three bathrooms — it's a home that you would never grow out of.
"With a well-designed internal layout, allowing flexible living, and with wonderful neighbours, we have thoroughly enjoyed living at Ashgrove for the last 10 years.
"We will be very sorry to leave. But with our parents getting older we want to move nearer to them so that should they need us we will be able to be there for them."
Daniel Morgan, of Peter Morgan estate agents, said he was astounded when he first learned there had been a £20,000 reduction in asking price and £5,000 cashback was on offer.
"That is a great incentive and it should grab every serious buyer's attention," he said.
