The oldest living British Lion, Trevor Lloyd, has died aged 91, according to one of his former clubs.
The scrum-half won two caps for Wales against Scotland and France which earned him selection for the Lions team that toured South Africa in 1955.
At the age of 30 he was the oldest player on the tour party and played six games.
That year he also led a Wales XV against a Lions XV.
He skippered Maesteg five times from 1948 to 1951 and also in seasons 1953-54 and 1955-56.
A tribute on the Aberavon Wizards website states: "A blast furnaceman who served in the Navy during World War Two, he remained extremely loyal to Maesteg.
"From Eastern School in Taibach, he also made appearances for British Steel Co, Aberavon, Cwmavon and Bristol, ending his career at Aberavon Quins.
"Condolences to his wife Gwenda and family."
