PHENOMENAL results were achieved by last year's Coleg Sir Gar students involved in the Academic, Cultural, Excellence programme.

In total, 67 A Levels were gained with a 100 per cent pass rate.

A large number of student shone in mathematics, with more than half of those entered achieving an A*.

Further mathematics students also performed highly, with five of seven entrants achieving an A* and the remaining two achieving an A.

The percentage of students who scored an A* was more than four times higher than the national average.

And the percentage of students achieving an A* to B grade was almost double the national average at 96 per cent.

Faculty and campus director for Llanelli Nikki Neale said that she has high hopes for the new influx of ACE students that have just started at the college.
